Jammu, Aug 14: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday said the party’s agenda is serving people with honesty and integrity.
According to a DPAP statement issued here, Azad held a meeting of party workers in Jammu and also met deputations from Marh. He directed them to increase their footprints at the booth level to expand the party cadre.
He said it is the duty of all workers to hold booth-level meetings in their respective areas and ensure maximum number of people are joining the party and understanding the party agenda.
“All the workers shall hold the public meetings and reach out to people in their respective areas,” he said while over fifty workers from Congress joined the party in his presence, the statement said.
“The joining on a day-to-day basis is reflecting that people have not only understood our agenda but endorse it. This endorsement in the long run will help us to serve the people in a better way. Our agenda is serving people with honesty and integrity,” the former chief minister said.
Meanwhile, the DPAP condemned the alleged misbehavior by BJP leader Tariq Keen and the “derogatory and racist remarks” by PWD JE Zubair Malik against a female party leader, DDC Amina Choudhary.
In a statement issued here, the DPAP chief spokesperson Salman Nizami said, “This reflects the mindset and an ideology of these people who have no respect for females. We strongly condemn this act by a BJP leader who misbehaved and one Junior Engineer used derogatory language against our leader from the ST community.”
“Our leader is a public representative and has every right to question the officers who fail to deliver services to the public, but the language and behaviour of both BJP leader and Junior Engineer are condemnable. We are urging authorities for appropriate action against both,” Nizami said.
