Srinagar, July 26: Continuing its efforts of doorstep delivery of latest technical guidance to Farming community , KVK Srinagar in collaboration with RCRQ Analysis ,FoH SKUAST-K, organised one day Orientation Program on “Promotion of IPM Practices to keep Pesticide Residue at Lowest ebb”today at Panzinara B,Block Qamarwari to sensitise the participating farmers & fruit growers on safe and judicious use pesticides under the project MPNRL GoI.
According to a statement issued here, the programme aimed to address alarming concerns of health hazards like cancer and heart attacks arising due to indiscriminate and excessive use of pesticides and inorganic chemical in their crop protection Management practices Dr Mali .Mukhtar PI of the Project underscored need for adoption of need based precision plant protection measures viz-a viz use safety gear to minimize the residual toxicity of the produce and simultaneously safeguarding the health sprayers. The orientation prog graced by Head KVK Dr Simnani and attended by team of kvk scientists, extension functionaries from deptt of Agriculture led by Nusrat Nabi, AIA, Saima (Agr.Insurance Astt) besides experts led by Prof Malik Mukhtar witnessed the participation of over 100 practising farm men and woman of the area.
