Kargil, May 2: A tragic road accident in the Chhani Gund area of Kargil district of Ladakh left one person dead and two injured.
The incident happened when a freight truck traveling from Sonamarg to Kargil met with an accident. According to an official, the truck bearing registration number JK01AL/9263 was en-route to Kargil when it veered off and crashed in the Chhani Gund locality. The accident involved three occupants, including the driver.
“One person died on the spot while the two others sustained injuries and have been shifted to the district hospital Kargil for treatment,” the official said. He confirmed the incident, adding that the identities of the deceased and injured individuals are yet to be ascertained. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
