One person was killed and several others were injured on Tuesday in a road accident that occurred in Chak Shutloo village of Rafiabad.
A police official said that a vehicle carrying a group of boys, who were returning after playing a cricket match, plunged into a gorge near Chak Shutloo, resulting in the death of Kaiser Ahmed Dar, son of Gulzar Ahmed Dar of Jalsheeri Baramulla.
The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where they were referred to Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla for advanced treatment.
Medical Superintendent AHGMC Baramulla, Dr. Parvaiz Masoodi, told Rising Kashmir that six injured individuals were admitted to the hospital and are now in stable condition.
“One of the injured persons suffered a head injury while the other five had minor injuries. The hospital provided necessary medical attention and medication to the injured youth without any referrals required,” Dr. Masoodi added.
“One among the injured was discharged. Rest of the youth are under observation.”
The police have taken cognizance of the incident and are investigating the cause of the accident.
