Srinagar, June 6: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday refuted reports circulating on social media alleging a leak or sale of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination question paper, describing the claims as “false” and “fraudulent.”

The agency cautioned that strict action would be taken against individuals or groups found spreading misinformation related to the examination.

NTA warned that these groups attempt to extort money by offering fake question papers and making false promises of access to examination content.

“The integrity of the examination process is fully intact, and every safeguard is in place to ensure a fair and secure examination for all candidates,” the NTA said.

The NTA further said that it is actively identifying and reporting the channels, social media accounts, and content responsible for spreading the misinformation. These have been referred to the concerned online platforms as well as cyber-crime authorities for immediate action and removal.

The NTA also announced that it is filing formal complaints with law-enforcement and cyber-crime agencies against those involved in creating, circulating, or promoting such fraudulent content. It stressed that attempting to defraud students through such activities is a serious punishable offence and that strict legal action will be taken against the perpetrators.

“We urge all aspirants to ignore these rumours and rely solely on official communication issued by NTA through its verified website and channels. Any genuine information will come only from these sources,” the National Testing Agency said.
