Jammu, Feb 07: The Government of the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir has directed all the newly elected 88 MLAs to be fully prepared for attending the first budget session of the UT beginning from March 3 onwards.
Pertinent to mention here, there are a total of 90 MLAs in the J&K Assembly however as of now there are 88 members of the House after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah vacated the Budgam seat. Another Assembly seat of Nagrota in Jammu region fell vacant after the death of BJP MLA Devender Rana.
“All the newly elected MLAs have been communicated by the government through official mail and other means to be fully prepared for attending the first budget session of J&K UT beginning from March 3rd,” sources informed Rising Kashmir.
The Jammu and Kashmir government has already asked the MLAs to submit the annual plan for carrying out various development works in their respective constituencies.
The MLAs would be able to raise 10 starred and 10 unstarred questions during the upcoming first budget session of the J&K UT at Jammu.
The MLAs can submit the Resolutions by or before February 16th. The calendar for the upcoming budget session at Jammu is also being finalized by the concerned authorities regarding conduct of budget session at Jammu.
The Business Rules Committee meeting for ensuring smooth conduct of the budget session will be held on 11th of February at Jammu.
