Srinagar, July 29: In order to commemorate the 5th anniversary of NEP 2020, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir and Jammu started a series of celebratory events under the banner of NEP UTSAV from Tuesday, 29th July. The events will continue till 2nd of August 2025.The Director of the School Education Jammu, Dr Naseem Javed Choudhary told Rising Kashmir that the NEP UTSAV has started from 29th July to 2nd August 2025 across the Jammu division.”All these five days, we are organising various programs. Today the Cluster Heads have involved all affiliated schools, School Management Committees (SMCs), Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), community members, parents, and local social organizations. In which debates, discussions, and NEP-oriented cultural programs were conducted during the first of the NEP UTSAV. The Community Involvement Day have also focus on strengthening community participation in schools to enhance learning outcomes,” DSEJ said He said that a sports day will be organised, during which various sports activities will take place in schools. On cultural day, students will present different cultural programs in schools related to their culture and tradition.”Students will have the opportunity to showcase their talents to the public during this five-day initiative. The final day will be celebrated as Skilling & Digital Initiative Day, during which various programs will also be conducted in schools,” Dr. Naseem said He further said that awareness campaigns for Foundational Literacy and Numeracy TLN/FLN Day will be organised to highlight the importance of FLN in local communities. School Management Committee (SMC) members, local leaders, and Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) will also be engaged to promote FLN initiatives. The workers, helpers, and children from Anganwadi centers will participate in FLN activities.”The talks will be conducted by teachers and students during morning assemblies or SMC meetings regarding the Vidyanjali Program and the provisions of NEP 2020 throughout the Jammu division,” DSEJ said. Dr GN Itoo, Director School Education Kashmir, who also participated in the Samagam, closely monitored the conduct of NEP Mela 2025 in Kashmir from New Delhi.Speaking to the media, Dr. Itoo said, “An extensive mega programme under the title ‘Paigam’ was conducted across Jammu and Kashmir to spread awareness regarding NEP 2020. In Kashmir valley alone, nearly 400 events were held, witnessing participation from over 42,000 students, 3,000+ teachers and Heads of Institutions, along with a large number of community members.”
