Jammu, Jan 27: National Conference (NC) provincial president, Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta said the people of Jammu and Kashmir have always reposed immense faith in the National Conference.
“This is evident from the massive mandate given to the party in the Assembly elections,” he said while addressing the Republic Day gathering at the NC headquarters here.
The former minister reiterated that the National Conference remains steadfast in its commitment to addressing the aspirations and concerns of the people to ensure equitable development and safeguard the interests of all sections of society.
According to a press release issued here, the NC Jammu celebrated 76th Republic Day with great patriotic fervour at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan where Gupta hoisted the national flag in the presence of Ajay Kumar Sadhotra former minister and Additional General Secretary Jammu and senior party leaders, functionaries and enthusiastic party workers. The event witnessed a spirit of nationalism and commitment towards strengthening democracy and upholding constitutional values, the statement said.
Extending warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion, Gupta said, “This day holds immense significance as it marks the adoption of the Indian Constitution, which guarantees the rights and freedoms of every citizen. It is our collective responsibility to uphold the values enshrined in this sacred document.” He urged the people, especially the younger generation, to read and understand the Constitution to be aware of their rights and duties as responsible citizens.
Highlighting the leadership of Omar Abdullah, Gupta assured that the National Conference government will work tirelessly to fulfill the expectations of the general public. “The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve a government that is dedicated to their welfare, and under Omar Abdullah’s leadership, NC will leave no stone unturned in delivering good governance, development, and peace,” he affirmed.
Calling upon party workers to remain deeply connected with the people at the grassroots level, the NC leader stressed the importance of dedicated public service. “Our strength lies in our people, and it is the duty of every party worker to be among them, listen to their grievances, and work towards resolving them. This is the true essence of public service,” he said.
The event concluded with slogans of patriotism and unity, reinforcing the party’s unwavering commitment to upholding democratic values and working for a prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.
