Srinagar, Aug 29: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Tuesday accorded a warm welcome to former youth NC North Zone president Sameer Iqbal on rejoining the party fold.
On the occasion, the party’s Additional General Secretary Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial President Kashmir Nasir Aslam Wani, South Zone President Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri, District President Bandipora Mir G R Naaz District President Anantnag Altaf Ahmad Kaloo, In charge Bandipore Adv Nazir Malik, party leaders Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi and media and social media functionaries were present on the occasion.
Welcoming Sameer Iqbal, the party leaders hoped that he would employ his experience in strengthening the organization at the grassroots level.
Speaking on the occasion, Sameer said that he was elated to be back in a party that truly works for the interest of the people of J&K. “The primary reason was that the ideology and the vision of the decision-makers in PC are no longer in sync with the aspirations of the youth. PC is unwilling to take solid stances on important issues confronting us,” he said, according to a statement issued by NC.
“The absence of ideology, vision and clarity are the primary reasons why I was not comfortable there. Contrarily, we have a decisive and strong leadership in NC that will take the region out of the morass it finds itself in,” Sameer, according to the statement, said.
