NC remembers Shaheed Ghulam Nabi Dar on 18th anniversary

Srinagar, July 09: A commemorative function was held at the residence of the late former MLA Kulgam Shaheed Ghulam Nabi Dar in HC Gam Kulgam to mark the 18th anniversary of his demise.
The event was attended by Provincial President Kashmir Nasir Aslam Wani, State Secretary Sakina Itoo, Provincial VP Dr. Bashir Veeri, Zone President Syed Tauqeer, and senior leader Abdul Majeed Larmi, who all paid tributes to the late leader.
The function was organised by Incharge Kulgam, State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, the party said in a statement.
Other attendees included District Kulgam Secretary Safdar Ali Khan, District VPs Mohammad Younis Malik, Mubarak Raina, Mohammad Yaqoob Malik, Jt Secretary Bashir Naik, Block President Mohammad Ayub Pala, Block Secretaries Liaqat Ali Khan, Riyaz Ahmad, as well as YNC functionaries Gowhar Ahangar, Showkat Zargar, Nawaz Ansar, Adil Guroo, Mushtaq Shah, and Nasir Khan.
Offering tributes to Shaheed Dar, the leaders called him a pivotal figure in the realisation of progressive and pro-poor objectives during his tenure as MLA Kulgam, the statement said.
“His unwavering loyalty to the party and Sher-e-Kashmir was evident throughout his tenure as MLA Kulgam. A true visionary and exemplary statesman, Dar Sahib entered politics with a steadfast determination to serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir. His contributions were groundbreaking and essential in various capacities, serving the party and benefiting the people of Kulgam. Dar Sahib was not just a man, but an institution in himself. His legacy is one of dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to the betterment of the people of Kulgam,” they added.
On the occasion, scores of youth from Kulgam joined the National Conference. They were warmly received by party leadership who assured them of their unwavering support.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah expressed profound grief over the demise of Er Sardar Mohammed Naim Khan Durrani of Rajbagh.
The duo expressed their deep sorrow and acknowledged the legacy of his “exceptional administrative prowess, dedicated service, and unwavering commitment to his duties”. They prayed for peace to his soul and fortitude to the bereaved Durrani, Mir, Shahmiri, Fazili and Bakshi households.
Among others, General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Addl General Secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, and Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq have also extended heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul in the highest echelons of Jannat.
