Jammu, May 16: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Jammu has directed all the district and block presidents of the party in Jammu province to gear up the cadre at the grassroots level for the upcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Bodies elections.
He said this while addressing functionaries of the Jammu West constituency at Sher-e- Kashmir Bhawan here on Tuesday. The meeting was presided by Chander Mohan Sharma District President Jammu Urban, a party statement issued here said.
The senior NC leader said that the Union Territory Administration has “failed miserably on all fronts leaving the people of this sensitive region to fend for themselves”. “Only NC can fulfill the aspirations of the people of J&K in letter and spirit and the party owes a responsibility to display the best performance in the Panchayat, ULB or even the impending assembly elections and pave the way for ending the miseries of people who have suffered immensely due to LG’s bureaucratic autocracy in absence of the people representatives government,” he said.
During the brainstorming session with the party leaders, threadbare discussion and deliberations were held on the upcoming Jammu Municipal Corporation polls which the party said are crucial for the party and more than that for the people’s welfare.
Gupta asked the district and block presidents to focus on reaching out to the people at their doorsteps and getting their issues resolved. He said that the respective presidents can adapt the common strategy as per the local urges in their respective areas. He asked the party cadre to strengthen the base of the party at the grassroots level by making the people aware of the key achievements during the National Conference regime.
