Jammu, Oct 03: National Conference provincial president, Rattan Lal Gupta on Thursday expressed confidence that the NC-Congress alliance will form the next “stable and developmental-oriented” government in Jammu & Kashmir.
In a statement issued here, Gupta pointed to the significant 69.65 percent voter turnout in the three phases of the assembly polls as a “clear indication of the public’s desire for change”.
“The people of Jammu & Kashmir are fed up and frustrated with the misrule of the last ten years under the BJP. There is a yearning for stable governance, and the NC-Congress alliance is committed to fulfilling that need,” he said.
Rattan Lal said that J&K requires a stable government to address the pressing issues faced by its citizens. “Our focus will be on delivering a government that is both drug-free and corruption-free, ensuring a bright future for the J&K,” he said.
Highlighting the NC-Congress alliance’s vision for the state, Gupta further said that the parties are united in their efforts to restore peace, development, and prosperity to the J&K. “We aim to build a Jammu and Kashmir where opportunities are created for all, and where people can live without fear, free from the scourge of corruption and drug abuse.”
The senior NC leader said that the priority of the new government will be to fulfil the promises of the manifesto to provide 1 lakh jobs to local youths of J&K, implementation of J&K Youth Employment Generation Act within three months, 12 LPG cylinders free of cost to EWS, free travelling of women in all public transport, enhancement of marriage assistance from Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000, increase of medical allowance of pensioners to Rs 1,000 from Rs 300, Minority Commission to be established, PDS to be strengthened and free ration of 10 kg per person per month shall be given to each BPL families, Rs 5,000 per month to each EWS household, free 200 units electricity power and free drinking water without charges.
