Srinagar, Nov 01: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah have strongly condemned the targeted killing of Head Constable J&K Police Ghulam Mohammad Dar in Tangmarg.
Denouncing the attack, the duo offered condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Condemning the attack, Dr Farooq said, “Kashmir is witnessing a return of target killings with three major incidents of violence taking place in the last few days. I express my sympathies with the bereaved family and pray for peace to the departed.”
Omar Abdullah while condemning the brutal killing of GM Dar said, “We regret these attacks, it shouldn’t have happened in the first place. While condemning these attacks, we also want to tell the government at least to speak the truth about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.”
Omar further said, “Repeatedly, we hear from the government that the situation is very peaceful, the situation has changed in J&K and every time the government issue these statements, these target attacks resurface, sometimes they target policemen and sometimes civilians, we know the situation isn’t normal and why the government is trying to misguide the people that are to be answered by them.”
Among others, the party’s general secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Addl General Secretary Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, and Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq have also condemned the killing in unequivocal terms.
