Jammu, March 30: On the eve of Navratri, J&K Bank has reinforced its commitment to pilgrim ser-vices by establishing a Special Currency Exchange Counter at its Business Unit in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan (SMVDB). The facility will provide fresh currency and note exchange services to devo-tees visiting the revered shrine.
The Fresh Cash, Note Exchange Counter was jointly inaugurated today by Anshul Garg CEO of SMVDSB and J&K Bank’s MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee. The event was attended by Zonal Head (Udhampur) Vinay Gupta, SDM Bhawan Vikas Anand, Tehsildar Mukesh Thappa, Shrine Board offi-cials, police personnel, Head Pandit Gopal Sharma, and Branch Head Vishal Sharma, along with devo-tees from across the country.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO SMVDSB Anshul Garg praised J&K Bank’s unwavering efforts in ensur-ing seamless banking services for the Shrine Board, its employees, and the multitude of pilgrims vis-iting the holy site. He also commended the bank’s role in providing modern financial services along the pilgrimage route. J&K Bank MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee expressed gratitude for the Shrine Board’s continued trust and support. He reiterated the bank’s commitment to delivering top-tier banking services to the Shrine Board, pilgrims, and the local community.

This special counter will further facili-tate currency exchange and cash availability, ensuring a hassle-free experience for pilgrims,” he stat-ed. Highlighting the bank’s strong infrastructure along the pilgrimage route, he added, “With three branches and nine ATMs from Katra to the Bhawan, J&K Bank remains steadfast in providing acces-sible banking services to lakhs of devotees. Our dedicated team also supports the Shrine Board in managing public offerings and cash collections, ensuring efficient financial operations.”
Prior to the inauguration, on the auspicious occasion of the first Navratra, MD and CEO Amitava Chatterjee, along with Zonal Head (Udhampur) Vinay Gupta and branch staff, performed Pooja with-in the premises, seeking blessings for the initiative.
