During the visit, the delegation conducted a comprehensive review of various developmental works executed by the Forest Department and Wular Conservation and  Management Authority (WUCMA) under CAMPA. The focus was on assessing the impact of these initiatives in promoting sustainable forest management practices and improving biodiversity in the region.
Subash Chandera emphasized the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders in achieving the goals set forth by CAMPA. “Our commitment to the environment transcends beyond mere policies; it is about fostering partnerships that empower local communities and restore our natural habitats,” he stated.
Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests T. Rabi Kumar remarked that the involvement of national leadership in our local projects not only brings valuable insights but also reinforces our shared responsibility towards forest conservation. This visit, he said,  is a testament to the government’s dedication to nurturing our forests.”
Chief Conservator of Forests Kashmir, Irfan Rasool Wani, added, “Monitoring our progress is crucial to ensure that we are on the right path. The guidance from the national level will undoubtedly enhance our efforts in Bandipora and beyond.”
Waseem Farooq Mir, DFO Bandipora said “as Bandipora continues to navigate the complexities of environmental conservation, the presence of national authorities signals a robust commitment to preserving the ecological balance and promoting sustainable development in the region.
The visit concluded with an interactive session where stakeholders and forest frontline staff  shared their experiences and challenges faced in implementing forest conservation practices.
“The feedback gathered will be instrumental in shaping future initiatives and ensuring the effective use of resources allocated under CAMPA” National CEO CAMPA said.
