Jammu, May 16: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Executive Member Raman Suri on Friday addressed the recent Indo-Pak conflict’s impact on the border areas of Poonch, Rajouri and other areas in Kashmir, acknowledging the loss of lives and property while praising the unwavering spirit of the affected communities. He urged the government to provide prompt compensation to help families rebuild their lives.
“The loss of lives in the border areas due to the recent conflict is irreparable, and our hearts go out to the families who have suffered. Yet, the courage and resilience displayed by the people of Poonch, Rajouri, and some border areas of Kashmir, as well as areas like Samba and Jammu, are truly exemplary,” Suri said in a statement issued here. “Their unity and determination in the face of adversity stand as a testament to their patriotism. The entire nation is indebted to these brave families for their sacrifices.”
He commended the government’s decision to reopen schools in most areas, except for a few sensitive border zones, ensuring that students’ education remains uninterrupted.
The BJP leader highlighted the unity and patience demonstrated by residents during the period of heightened tension. “Within a day or two, the people of the shelling-affected areas have set an inspiring example of resilience, sending a powerful message of unity and courage to the nation. They have stood firm in support of the country under the most challenging circumstances,” he said.
Suri urged the government to act swiftly in providing relief to the affected families. “This will enable them to rebuild their lives and move forward. We are confident that with the government’s support, life in these areas will soon return to normal,” he said.
He added, “With continued support and unity, we are hopeful that this phase will pass, and normalcy will be fully restored across all affected areas.”
