Srinagar, Aug 08: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference senior leader and Member of Parliament (MP), Mian Altaf Ahmad Larvi on Thursday denounced the Waqf (Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha, claiming the bill is aimed to disempower the Muslim community across the country.
As the government proposed the introduction of the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha, MP Altaf said, “Our nation is renowned worldwide for its secularism and democratic principles. However, the introduction of such a bill would not only tarnish the country’s image but also instill apprehensions among the Muslim community across the country.”
