Pulwama, July 02: Sakina Masood Itoo, Minister for Education, Health and Medical Education, and Social Welfare, on Wednesday said that elaborate arrangements have been put in place to ensure medical facilities for the Amarnath pilgrims.Speaking to the media in Pulwama after distributing regularisation orders among several contingent-paid workers, Itoo said that pilgrims from across the country visit Kashmir every year to pay obeisance at the holy cave of Amarnath, and making arrangements for the Yatra is a longstanding practice. “The Health Department has been working tirelessly to arrange medical facilities for the pilgrims,” Itoo said, adding that she personally visited Sonmarg and Pahalgam to review the preparedness on the ground. She said the authorities have already ensured the availability of medicines, doctors, and hospital beds. “Everything has been arranged to provide timely healthcare to the pilgrims,” she added. When asked about the formation of a new political bloc, the People’s Alliance for Change, Itoo remarked that Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed the rise of such alliances from the time of Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad to the present day. “The government is not weak; it stands strong with the overwhelming support of the people. This kind of public backing has never been seen before,” she said, emphasizing that the administration is committed to serving the populace. She also highlighted the government’s efforts to address unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir. “Recently, the Chief Minister launched Mission Yuva to encourage youth to come forward and benefit from various opportunities,” Itoo said.
