During the OPD launch, Dr. Surender said advancements in oncology treatments have made it possible for cancers to have more favourable outcomes when detected early.
“Robotic surgery is a valuable addition to the highly advanced surgical techniques that surgeons use for minimally invasive surgery. Newly advanced robotic surgery has provided an innovative approach to the treatment of cancer. The landscape of cancer care has witnessed a transformative shift with the advent of robotic surgery,” he said.
He said with the launch of this OPD, residents of Srinagar and nearby regions will be highly benefited in terms of reduced travel for primary consultations and to avail expert opinions.
Dr Alka Dahiya, Consultant- Surgical Oncology and Robotic Surgery, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Shalimar Bagh said there has been significant rise in cancer cases of the reproductive system among women including cancers like cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, vaginal cancer etc.
“It is crucial to raise awareness about symptoms, prevention and advanced treatment options available for such cancer cases. Dr Dinesh said for severe heart failure cases, cutting-edge treatments like ECMO and LVAD have emerged as life-saving options, providing new hope to patients.
“Maintaining a healthy lifestyle through a balanced diet, regular exercise, physical activity, avoiding smoking and keeping cholesterol and blood sugar levels in check is vital for heart health,” the doctor said.
With the launch of these OPD services in Srinagar, the hospital aims to bring expert cardiac care closer to the people. It said patients can now access primary and follow-up consultations without the burden of long-distance travel, ensuring timely and convenient care.
