Massive Administrative Overhaul: 89 Transfers Across J&K

In a significant administrative shake-up, the Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered the transfer and posting of 89 officials across various departments in the Union Territory. The reshuffle aims to bring fresh perspectives to critical roles and improve the functioning of key government sectors.

 

Mr. Vikas Kundal, IAS (AGMUT:2013), who was serving as the Managing Director of Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited, and holding an additional charge of Managing Director of Jammu and Kashmir Power Corporation Limited, has been transferred and posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Poonch.

Similarly, Mr. Shakeel Ul Rehman Rather, IAS (AGMUT:2013), who was the Deputy Commissioner of Bandipora, has now been appointed as the Director of Floriculture, Parks, and Gardens, Kashmir.

In another significant move, Mr. Majid Khalil Ahmad Drabu, IAS (AGMUT:2013), formerly the Controller of Legal Metrology in J&K, has been transferred to serve as the Mission Director of ICPS, J&K. Mr. Sheikh Arshad Ayub, IAS (AGMUT:2013), who was the Inspector General of Registration, has been reassigned as the Director of Libraries, J&K.

 

The reshuffle also saw Mr. Rahul Yadav, IAS (AGMUT:2014), who was the Commissioner of Jammu Municipal Corporation and also held the additional charge of CEO, SPV Jammu City for the implementation of the Smart City Project, being transferred and posted as the Mission Director of HADP. In addition to this role, he will also serve as the Special Secretary to the Government in the Agriculture Production Department.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ch. Mohd Yasin, IAS (AGMUT:2015), who was the Deputy Commissioner of Poonch, has been appointed as the Managing Director of Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited, where he will also continue to hold the additional charge of Managing Director of Jammu and Kashmir Power Corporation Limited until further orders.

 

Further changes include the transfer of Mr. Devansh Yadav, IAS (AGMUT:2016), who was the Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar. He has now been posted as the Commissioner of Jammu Municipal Corporation, with the additional responsibility of CEO, SPV Jammu City for the implementation of the Smart City Project, until further orders. Mr. Abhishek Sharma, IAS (CG:2018), who served as the Deputy Commissioner of Samba, has been transferred and posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Rajouri.

 

Ms. Ankita Kar, IRS, who was awaiting posting orders in the General Administration Department, has now been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Jammu & Kashmir e-Governance Agency (JaKeGA). This move relieves Ms. Prerna Puri, IAS, Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Information Technology Department, of the additional charge of this post. Mr. Bashir Ahmad, IRS, who was the Vice-Chairman of Lake Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA), has been transferred and posted as the Inspector General of Registration, J&K.

 

The reorganization also affects various other key positions. Mr. Bashir Ahmad Dar, JKAS, who was the Secretary of J&K Public Service Commission, has been transferred to serve as the Managing Director of JKPCC. Mr. Anil Kaul, JKAS, who was awaiting orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department, has been posted as Secretary of J&K Public Service Commission.

 

In the Social Welfare Department, Ms. Rachna Sharma, JKAS, who was serving as Secretary, has now been transferred and posted as Secretary in the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. Mr. Rajinder Singh Tara, JKAS, who was the Transport Commissioner, J&K, has been reassigned as the Vice Chairman of the Jammu Development Authority, while Mr. Bhawani Rakwal, JKAS, formerly Vice Chairman of the Jammu Development Authority, is now the new Transport Commissioner of J&K.

 

The administrative overhaul continues with Ms. Anuradha Gupta, JKAS, who was awaiting orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department, being posted as the Controller of Legal Metrology, J&K. Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, JKAS, who was the Managing Director of J&K Agro Industries Development Corporation, has been transferred and posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Bandipora.
