Martyrs Police Premier League T-20 cricket tournament concludes in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, Sep 27: The much-anticipated Martyrs Police Premier League T-20 Cricket Tournament, organized by Ganderbal Police as part of the Civic Action Program, came to a thrilling conclusion on Wednesday at Sheikh-ul-Aalam Stadium Kangan. In an exciting Grand Finale, Kullan Royal Strikers faced off against Rayil Cricket Club, with Rayil Cricket Club clinching victory by 5 wickets.
The highlight of the match was Yasir Arfat’s exceptional performance, earning him the title of Man of the Match and Man of the Tournament for his outstanding contributions throughout the competition. The presence of SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar-IPS as the Chief Guest added to the grandeur of the closing ceremony.
 
The tournament garnered an overwhelming response, with 40 cricket teams from the district expressing their desire to participate. Ultimately, 16 teams were shortlisted through a Lucky Draw Series, and the selected teams expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Ganderbal Police for organizing such a prestigious event.
 
During the Final Ceremony, SSP Ganderbal praised all participating teams and emphasized the importance of sports in nurturing the minds and imaginations of young and budding players. He urged players to exhibit good sportsmanship, discipline, and respectful behavior towards one another.
 
Ganderbal Police has been actively organizing various sports events, including cricket, volleyball, football, cultural programs, and other co-curricular activities, with the aim of fostering brotherhood, love, and peace among the youth and steering them away from the menace of drug addiction.
 
The event saw the presence of prominent figures, including Commandant CRPF 118Bn. S.S.Yadav, 2IC CRPF 118 Bn Chouhan, SDPO Kangan Muzaffar Jan-JKPS, Dy.SP DAR DPL Ganderbal Nazir Ahmad, Major Deepak 34RR Assam Rifles, AC 118/Bn CRPF Naresh Yadav, Gagan Singh, and other senior officers, along with a large number of enthusiastic spectators who added to the fervor of the event.
The tournament’s successful execution was made possible through the diligent supervision of SDPO Kangan Muzaffar Jan-JKPS, fully assisted by the Kangan Cricket Board. 
In the end, an Award Ceremony was conducted, where SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar-IPS presented trophies, sports kits, uniforms, and cash rewards to both the winning and runner-up teams, extending his best wishes for their future endeavors.
