Ganderbal, Feb 25: In ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi honoured Mohammad Manshah Khakhi, a distinguished figure in literary circles hailing from the Kachnambal village in Kangan, Ganderbal district.
Khakhi’s remarkable journey from modest beginnings to academic excellence stands as a testament to his indomitable spirit. Surmounting financial constraints, he undertook arduous journeys daily to pursue his education, ultimately attaining an MA in Education from the University of Jammu in 1982.
In the 110th edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM Modi shed light on Khakhi’s invaluable contributions, particularly underscoring his dedicated efforts to preserve the Gojri language in Jammu and Kashmir over the past three decades.
Transitioning from a teacher to a Research Assistant in Gojri at the JK Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages, Manshah’s influence on the literary landscape has been profound. His tenure culminated in retirement as an Editor cum Cultural Officer from the esteemed institution.
Prime Minister Modi’s acknowledgment not only celebrates Khakhi’s literary accomplishments but also serves as a tribute to his resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity. Furthermore, the recognition extends to a young girl from Ganderbal District, underscoring the transformative potential of education in overcoming obstacles and shaping a promising future.
