LG’s Rolling Trophy Cricket: Samba, Rajouri, Reasi, Doda script wins

Jammu, Dec 10: Parveen of Samba and Ramnik of Reasi sparkled with the willow as the districts of Samba and Rajouri registered wins in day matches played at Khel Gaon Nagrota, while the districts of Reasi and Doda scripted convincing victories over their rivals in the day-night matches of the ongoing LG Rolling Trophy Cricket Tournament, being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Khel Gaon, Nagrota and MA Stadium, here.
In the first match played at Khel Gaon, Samba defeated Kathua in an easy contest by 33 runs.  Batting first, Samba scored 182 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. In reply, Kathua scored 149 runs in the allotted overs, thus losing the match by 33 runs. Parveen of Samba was awarded Man of the Match for scoring magnificent 93 runs.
In another match, Rajouri got the better of Udhampur by 4 wickets. Batting first, Udhampur scored a good total of 156 runs in the allotted overs. In reply, Rajouri chased the target by losing 6 wickets to win the match by 4 wickets. Bilal of Rajouri scored brisk 31 runs which fetched him the Man of the Match award. 
At the MA Stadium, Reasi defeated Kishtwar by 2 wickets. Batting first, Kishtwar scored 138 runs in the allotted overs. In reply, Reasi chased the target in a tough contest by losing 8 wickets to win the match by 2 wickets. Rannik of Reasi scored superb 72 runs and was adjudged the Man of the Match. 
In another match at MA Stadium, Doda drubbed Ramban in a close contest by a narrow margin of 11 runs. Batting first, Doda scored 131 runs in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, Ramban managed to score 120 runs to lose the match by a narrow margin of 11 runs. Baber Hussain of Doda scored splendid 47 runs and was adjudged the Man of the Match. 
The Man of the Match awards to the winners were presented by Director Youth Services and Sports J&K, Subash Chander Chibber and Deputy Director (Central), Jitender Mishra in the presence of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma. The tournament is being held under the chairmanship of Director Youth Services and Sports J&K, Subash Chander Chibber and under the supervision of Deputy Director Central, Jitender Mishra; Accounts Officer Directorate, Sunil Sharma; Joint Director Jammu, Suram Chand Sharma and District Youth.
