Srinagar, July 10: Lakes Conservation and Management Authority (LC&MA) is nearing the final stages of an ambitious project aimed at enhancing the allure of Dal Lake. With the construction of four floating jetties at various locations, the LC&MA seeks to provide parking slots for motor boats while adding a touch of beauty to the renowned lake.
According to an LC&MA official, the development of these jetties has been underway for some time and is expected to be completed in the coming days. The jetties will serve as docking stations for motor boats, offering efficient parking solutions while also captivating visitors with their picturesque surroundings.
The official further revealed that the estimated cost of this project is approximately one crore. Legal issues had caused delays in the progress of the work, but a recent court order has cleared the way for the project’s completion, bringing relief to the authorities and stakeholders involved.
Beyond their functional purpose, these jetties will be adorned with vibrant lighting, enhancing the visual appeal of Dal Lake. The colorful lights will illuminate the surroundings, creating a mesmerizing spectacle for tourists and locals alike. Moreover, the jetties will alleviate congestion and provide much-needed relief to Shikara operators, streamlining their operations and enhancing the overall experience for visitors.
Importantly, the jetties will also accommodate fire service boats, ensuring swift responses to emergencies. By strategically positioning these boats at the jetties, authorities will be able to rapidly reach any site requiring urgent attention, ensuring the safety and well-being of those visiting or residing near the lake.
The LC&MA remains dedicated to preserving and enhancing the natural beauty and cultural significance of Dal Lake. With the development of these floating jetties, they aim to create a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetics, allowing visitors to truly appreciate the splendor of one of Kashmir’s most iconic destinations, as emphasized by the LC&MA official.
