KU North Campus’s Department of Management Studies triumphs in RBI Policy Challenge 2023

Srinagar, Dec 07: The Department of Management Studies, North Campus, University of Kashmir was represented by a team of four students of IMBA 8th semester and one faculty advisor in RBI policy challenge 2023. 
The team comprising of Noureen Jan, Irtiqa Naaz, Madiha Shabir, Bazila Mehraj along with their faculty advisor Dr. Umer Mushtaq Lone represented the department in the regional round of the challenge where their entry was adjudged as the best entry from the region of Jammu and Kashmir and also secured them a spot in highly competitive Zonal round held in RBI Office – New Delhi on 6th December 2023.
Competing in the zonal round against teams from diverse regions, including Himachal Pradesh, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, and institutions like Jawahar Lal Nehru University and IMT-Gaziabad, the students showcased their exceptional understanding of financial policies. The Zonal Round, which focused on the topic “Policy measures to leverage digital modes of payments, like UPI, for fostering financial inclusion and bring the still unbanked section of India’s population within the formal financial system,” with special reference to RBI’s Payments Vision 2025 document, witnessed intense competition. The team identified four challenges that need immediate attention and subsequently suggested policy measures to address the same. 
The team from the Department of Management studies, North campus demonstrated outstanding analytical skills and their comprehensive understanding of the given theme secured them the top position in the North Zone and the team was adjudged as the winner of the Zonal round of RBI Policy Challenge 2023. The team of the Department has to represent the North Zone in the upcoming National Round of RBI Policy Challenge 2023 to be held in Mumbai.
The upcoming National Level competition, scheduled to be held at the RBI Central Office in Mumbai, promises to be a platform for the team from North campus – University of Kashmir to further showcase their expertise and innovative solutions in the realm of financial policies. The entire university community extends their congratulations to the winning team and wishes them success in the final round.
