Kohli’s fan Maqsooma from Kaksar becomes twitter sensation

Kargil, Oct 17: Meet Maqsooma, an emerging player of border village Kaksar Kargil of Union Territory of Ladakh, who became a sensation of microblogging site Twitter.
In a video that went viral on Social media platforms Maqsooma can be seen playing some good shorts in the video.
Confessing her love for Kohli, she admitted that Virat Kohli is her favorite player and that she dreams to be like him. “I am still learning how to play, especially ‘Helicopter Shot.’ After taking the second run, we get tired and do not feel like running for another,” she said.
My father at home and my teacher at school encourage me to play cricket. I’ll put all my efforts into playing like @imVkohli Maqsooma student class 6th, Tweeted Directorate of School Education (DSE) via its official Twitter handle.
Meanwhile, days after her video went viral on Social Media Ladakh Administration has extended support to young cricket sensation Maqsooma from Kaksar, Kargil and her cricket talent and aspirations.
The attention of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Union Territory of Ladakh, the department decided to extend support not just to the young cricketer but also to her team and the school.
Secretary, Youth and Sports Services and Sports Department, Ravinder Kumar announced that a full cricket set would be sent to Kaksar High School, immediately.
“Cricket is a team sport and we must nurture students like Maqsooma and others to hone their individual skills and their ability to play in a team,” he said.
The Secretary added that efforts are being made to develop sports infrastructure in the mountainous region of Ladakh along with the identification of such talent in different sports for additional support and coaching.
