Kargil, Dec 22: The 121 Infantry Brigade, Kargil Sentinels, Sunday organized a virtual conference to address career opportunities for unemployed youth in the district.
Held at the Kargil Sainik Institute, the event saw participation from army officials and representatives from companies based in Delhi and Bangalore.
A statement issued here said that the conference focused on skill development courses in fields such as hotel management, electronics, and automotive vehicle technology. Its aim was to provide the youth of Kargil, Drass, and Batalik with a platform to explore vocational training and employment opportunities in growing sectors.
A large number of youths from across the region attended, demonstrating their enthusiasm to enhance their skills and improve employment prospects. The Kargil Sentinels emphasized the importance of such initiatives in empowering local communities and combating unemployment through skill-based learning. During the session, it was announced that a comprehensive skill development program would soon be launched for students who have completed their 10th and 12th grades. The program will cater to individuals above the age of 18, offering them industry-relevant training.
In a positive development, company representatives are expected to visit Kargil in the coming months to conduct physical interviews, providing direct recruitment opportunities for local youth. This initiative by the 121 Infantry Brigade underscores the Army’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and development, creating a brighter future for the youth.
