Srinagar, June 06: The Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYSS) in Jammu and Kashmir remains unwavering in its commitment to promoting sports and empowering the youth across the regions of North and Central Kashmir. Through a series of well-organized events and initiatives, the department has been fostering a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and overall development among the young generation.
In the district of Kupwara, a multitude of competitions including Badminton and Football Trials attracted a significant number of students from both government and private institutions. The programs were effectively supervised by District Youth Services & Sports Officer Zahoor Ahmad Wani, ensuring their smooth execution and aiming for improved results in future competitions.
Meanwhile, in Baramulla, the department emphasized civic responsibility, cleanliness, and a drug-free lifestyle among the youth through a Cleanliness Drive and a thrilling Kabbadi event. Students, school staff, and field staff enthusiastically participated, contributing to the creation of a cleaner and healthier environment.
Over in Bandipora, the department organized sports activities exclusively for household women in the village of KhanDyal, promoting inclusivity and providing equal opportunities for women to engage in physical activities. Furthermore, an Inter Zonal District Level Yogasana Competition recognized and celebrated the exceptional skills and achievements of the participants.
Shifting focus to Central Kashmir, Ganderbal district witnessed a spectacular Yoga Event that aimed to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being among the youth. Students from various schools actively participated, and DYSSO Ganderbal Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal expressed gratitude to all participants, reaffirming the department’s dedication to organizing more such events in the future.
In Srinagar, Inter School Zonal Level Competitions in various sports disciplines fostered healthy competition and provided a platform for students to showcase their skills.
