JAMMU, Feb 04: The Business Rules Committee meeting, aimed at ensuring the smooth conduct of the first budget session of the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), is scheduled for February 11 in Jammu, reliable sources have confirmed.
This meeting is held before the commencement of the Assembly’s budget session to finalise various aspects of House proceedings and ensure the session runs smoothly.
Members from the ruling National Conference (NC), the main opposition party BJP, and other political parties in J&K are part of the Business Rules Committee, with representation based on their strength in the House.
“The Business Rules Committee meeting will be held on February 11,” BJP MLA RS Pathania informed Rising Kashmir. During this meeting, the rules for the smooth conduct of the budget session and the proceedings of the House will be finalised.
Meanwhile, the J&K Government has already instructed newly elected MLAs to submit their annual plans for development works in their constituencies. The allocation for Constituency Development Funds (CDF) will be decided during the budget session, which begins on March 3 in Jammu.
MLAs have been asked to submit their annual development plans or estimates for works ranging between Rs 25-30 crore in their respective constituencies.
Furthermore, MLAs must submit any resolutions by February 16. The calendar for the upcoming budget session is being finalised by the concerned authorities to ensure the session runs smoothly.
