Jammu, Jan 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) and Dogra Degree College, Samba, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on entrepreneurship development and startup-related services.
The partnership aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary for innovation and industry readiness. The MoU was signed at a formal ceremony held at the JKEDI campus in Baribrahmana. Key signatories included Rajinder Kumar Sharma (JKAS), Director JKEDI, and Dr Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College, Samba. Senior officials from both institutions, including Sh. Dharamveer Sharma, Dean of Dogra Educational Trust, Amarpreet Kaur, Convenor, and Sh. Ashish Thakur, Social Media Coordinator, IIC Dogra Degree College, were also present.
Speaking at the event, Director JKEDI, Rajinder Kumar Sharma, underscored the importance of collaboration to foster entrepreneurship, skill-based training, and innovation. He highlighted JKEDI’s commitment to providing internship opportunities, training in emerging technologies, and support for students to bridge the skill gap and prepare them for industry challenges. Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal of Dogra Degree College, commended the partnership as a transformative step for students, enabling them to develop entrepreneurial skills and embrace a culture of innovation and startups.
This collaboration is part of JKEDI’s ongoing efforts to create a startup-friendly ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir, promoting innovation and fostering economic growth across the region.
