Srinagar, Feb 13: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has implemented a new marks criteria for the academic session 2023-2024, affecting the 11th and 12th-grade examinations.
As per an official notice issued by the Director Academics of JKBOSE, students appearing for subjects like Humanities, Science, Home Science, and Commerce must secure a minimum of 33 percent in General English and 36 per cent in each of their chosen elective subjects to pass the exams.
For subjects incorporating practical exams, candidates need to attain at least 36 percent in both theory and practicals, separately, in addition to an aggregate of theory and practicals.
Furthermore, if a candidate fails in one or more subjects by a deficiency of not more than five marks, they will still be considered to have passed the examination by adding the required marks out of five to their advantage. However, these additional marks will not be added to the subject or the total aggregate.
It is important to note that this concession of awarding notional marks will not be applicable in the practical examination, including both internal assessment and external examination.
