JKBOSE, CBSE begin Board exams for classes 10th & 12th

Srinagar, Feb 15: A total of 220,879 students from grades 10 and 12 are set to participate in the JKBOSE Annual Regular 2025 examinations, which will commence tomorrow (February 15), at 2,189 centers across the soft zones of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a senior official from the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), the Class 10 exams in the soft zones will begin today. 126,711 students will appear for the exams at 1,316 centers. The examinations for Class 10 will be held in the evening shift, starting at 1:30 PM.
In the Jammu division, 61,527 students are expected to take the exams at 644 centers, while in the Kashmir division, 65,184 students will appear at 672 centers. The Class 12 exams will also begin today, with 94,168 students appearing across 873 centers. The exams will be conducted in the morning shift, beginning at 10:00 am. Of the total number of Class 12 students, 43,559 students from the Jammu division will appear at 403 centers, while 50,609 students from the Kashmir division will participate in 470 centers.
The Class 12 exams will be conducted in the morning shift, and Class 10 exams will be held in the evening shift, across 2,189 examination centers in both divisions of Jammu and Kashmir.
The official also confirmed that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will commence its Class 10 and 12 board exams on the same day, February 15, with over 44 lakh students from more than 8,000 schools in India and abroad set to appear for the exams. On the first day of the CBSE exams, Class 10 students will take the English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature) papers, while Class 12 students will write the Entrepreneurship exam. The CBSE exams will be held from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM across 7,842 centers in India and 26 locations abroad.
This is the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir that both the JKBOSE and CBSE will administer the 10th and 12th grade exams on the same day.
