Jammu, Dec 17: In this month’s Awaam ki Awaaz program, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha called upon PRI members, youth, women Self-Help Groups, entrepreneurs, voluntary organizations, and every section of society to actively participate in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
“This initiative, recognized as the most extensive outreach effort by the Government of India, aims to cover every Panchayat and Urban Local Body in J&K, emphasizing the importance of people’s involvement to ensure the full benefits of schemes reach intended recipients.”
“As we stand at the sunset of 2023 and look back at the months that have passed, we see impressive growth, improved quality of life in rural and urban areas, and visible progress all around. I see J&K on the move with confidence towards the goal,” stated the Lt Governor.
Meanwhile, Lt Governor Sinha shared uplifting success stories during the event, highlighting the achievements of individuals like Munshi Ramji from Udhampur. Ramji, a senior citizen, fashioned an e-cycle using old laptop batteries and e-waste, inspired by the Prime Minister’s Vocal for Local and Green India Initiative.
Srinagar’s Sadaf, despite facing disabilities, achieved success as an entrepreneur, embodying grit, self-belief, and determination. The Lt Governor praised her competence, skills, and knowledge as a source of inspiration for others.
Meenakshi Devi, a female e-rickshaw driver from Bhaderwah, received accolades for her extraordinary courage, offering hope to her family and inspiring others facing adversity.
The Lt Governor also commended Pooja of Kot Bhalwal, Jammu, who established her homemade chocolate brand, ‘Smiley Chocolates.’ He highlighted her journey as an inspiration for other women in the area, encouraging them to choose a courageous path.
Javed Ahmed of Tangmarg, a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, was recognized for inspiring youth to become job creators. Tariq Ahmed Ganie from Kulgam was also praised for his waste recycling unit, generating employment for local youth and contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future.
Lt Governor Sinha acknowledged the valuable suggestions received from citizens and directed concerned departments to take appropriate action. Suggestions from Jammu’s Poonam Sharma, Abdul Rashid Bhat from Ganderbal, Sanchetna from Jammu, Pulwama’s Ehsaan Khaleeq, Anil Thapa of Udhampur, Kathua’s Kanwal Singh, Noor Ud Din Khan of Baramulla, Madeena Mir of Srinagar, Saurav Sharma of Kathua, and Zakir Hussain from Poonch will be considered for further implementation.
LG lauds Mahamana’s role in shaping India’s global economic identity
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, at a recent event organised by Mahamana Malaviya Mission in Bengaluru, commended the organization’s dedication to promoting the values and ideals of the visionary Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya.
Lt Governor Sinha acknowledged Mahamana as a guiding light, stating, “His life-long campaigns awakened the conscience of the entire nation, leaving a profound impact on society, economy, and education.”
Highlighting Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya’s significant contributions, the Lt Governor emphasised the revival of India’s business, industrial education, and the preservation of the country’s rich civilizational heritage. He credited Mahamana for laying the foundation for the future of India.
“Through his works, Mahamana instilled a new sense of pride in the country’s history, present, and future potential,” said the Lt Governor.
He highlighted the significant contribution of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya in reviving India’s business, industrial education and country’s rich civilizational heritage and laying the foundation for future India.

Describing Mahamana as a “miracle man,” the Lt Governor highlighted his understanding of modern education’s transformative power, turning India’s youth into a force for societal contribution and self-growth. Lt Governor Sinha also shared key government initiatives, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aligned with Mahamana’s vision of Aatma Nirbhar and a Developed India.
“Make in India and AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan has unlocked India’s manufacturing potential, empowered marginalised sections of society, transformed rural economy, and created employment and entrepreneurship opportunities through modern education and skilling,” he stated.
He urged the people, especially the youth, to recommit themselves to the ideas of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya and actively contribute to nation-building.
