J&K Tourism dept Invites Indian Cricket Team for T20 World Cup celebration

Says it would be an honour to host the team in the Crown of ‘Incredible India’

Srinagar, June 30: Following India’s thrilling victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department has extended a warm invitation to the Indian cricket team to celebrate their triumph in the picturesque region of Jammu and Kashmir.
On Saturday, India secured the T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa by 7 runs in Barbados, West Indies. Expressing their congratulations on the microblogging site X (formerly Twitter), the Tourism Department tweeted, “Congratulations to Team India on winning the T20 World Cup 2024! We welcome our champions to visit Jammu and Kashmir to continue the celebrations! It would be an honour to host you in the Crown of Incredible India.”
The invitation has garnered a positive response on social media, with top officers including Shah Faesal, IAS topper and Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar, Dr. Bilal MohiUd Din Bhat, expressing enthusiasm about hosting Team India.
India’s victory in the T20 World Cup 2024 marks their return to claiming the champions title after 11 years, ending a prolonged trophy drought. Additionally, captainRohitSharma and star batter ViratKohli have announced their retirement from T20 cricket, signaling the end of an era in the shorter format of the game.
