Srinagar, Apr 09: Political leaders in Jammu and Kashmir have extended warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasions of Eid-ul-Fitr and Navratri. They expressed hope that these festivals would bring peace, progress and prosperity to the Union Territory.

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah extended warm greetings to people on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
In his Eid greetings, Dr Farooq said, “I extend my warm wishes to people on the auspicious occasion praying that the Almighty accept our month-long fasting, repentance, prayers and rectitude. I urge the affluent class in society to help those who do not have any resources to celebrate Eid. The prevailing situation has regrettably increased the social gap with uncertainty looming large over the poorest of poor, daily wagers, and marginal farmers pushing them to the brink of hunger. On the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the well-off in our society should lend all support to the people in need.”
Omar Abdullah said, “On this day we should include the underprivileged in our happiness. There is no superior act to sharing our resources with the people in need. I wish the candles of piety and faith remain lit in our families and neighbourhoods throughout the year. I extend my warm wishes to the people on the auspicious eve with a view that the needs of the people at need are taken care of by the affluent ones. May the auspicious day increase the prospects of peace, prosperity, and brotherhood in J&K.”

Sabiya Qadri; YNC Provincial Presidents Salman Ali Sagar, and Aijaz Jan have also felicitated people on the auspicious eve of Eid Ul Fitr, hoping the day acts as a harbinger of peace, and prosperity in J&K.
Meanwhile, Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah extended warm greetings to people on the festivity of Navratri (Navreh). The duo said the festivity is yet another glaring example of J&K’s abundant cultural richness and a source of wonder for people across the globe. They hoped that the festival is observed in the best tradition of brotherhood and gaiety and would increase the prospects of peace and prosperity in J&K, and the rest of the country.

Mehbooba Mufti
The Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) President on Tuesday greeted the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. In her message, the PDP chief prayed to the Almighty Allah to accept the month-long fasting and prayers of the faithful. She hoped the spirit of generosity, discipline, and piety generated through the holy month would be carried hereafter by people in day-to-day life as well.
Mehbooba also appealed to people not to forget the disadvanta¬geous sections of society particular¬ly orphans, widows, destitute and all those who suffered during the turmoil of the past three decades dur¬ing the festivities of Eid.
Mehbooba Mufti also extended her Navratri greetings to Hindu brethren. In her message, she said that this great festival of worship marks the beginning of the Hindu Luni-Solar calendar Chaitra. She prayed that this festival bring happiness, prosperity and peace in Jammu & Kashmir.

Communist Party of India – CPI (M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami in his Eid message said he hopes this festival of joy and happiness will usher peace and prosperity to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “May this festival strengthen mutual goodwill and inspire each one of us to follow the path of love, friendship, harmony and peace in the state,” he said.
Altaf Bukhari
Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari extended warm greetings to the people, particularly the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir, on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
In his message, Bukhari said, “I extend heartfelt greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the Muslims, on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Besides festivity and joyful celebration, this auspicious occasion symbolizes our gratitude to Almighty for His gift of the month of Ramadan, which provided us with an opportunity for repentance, purification of the self, and the pursuit of piety.”
Apni Party President appealed to people to share their happiness with those who are less privileged and urged them to pray for the peace and prosperity of this land, on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
He said, “I humbly request that we remember to share our happiness with the poor and needy and extend our help to the underprivileged members of our society while we celebrate this joyous occasion. Also, I appeal to people to pray for the peace and well-being of Jammu and Kashmir on this festive and revered occasion.”
Junaid Azim Mattu
Apni Party leader and former Mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Junaid Azim Mattu in his Eid message prayed for lasting peace and prosperity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“May our lives be filled with joy and happiness and turn into a harbinger of prosperous times ahead with this Eid. May our sincere prayers be answered, and may all of us be blessed with Allah’s choicest blessings to grow wiser every day and May this Eid bring happiness to us and our families” former Mayor Srinagar said.
Sajad Lone
J&K Peoples Conference President Sajad highlighted the profound significance of Eid-ul-Fitr, emphasising how this sacred occasion fosters a renewed and reinvigorated sense of faith within the hearts of believers after the spiritual introspection and devotion of Ramadan.
“On this auspicious day, I pray for the Almighty Allah’s blessings to shower upon us all, guiding us towards greater empathy, tolerance and understanding. It’s a moment to strengthen the ties that bind us and to forgive those who may have wronged us,” he expressed.
Furthermore, the PC President stressed on the importance of remembering the less fortunate and extending a helping hand while celebrating with family and loved ones.
Hakeem Yaseen
Chairman People’s Democratic Front (PDF) and former minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen in his felicitation message prayed that the Eid-ul-Fitr may prove a harbinger of peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.
He appealed to people to observe the festival with utmost simplicity and austerity and reach out to the poor and needy on this auspicious religious festival to enable them to celebrate the festival.
The PDF chairman has appealed to the philanthropists to extend their compassionate and helping hand to the people in need to bring a smile on their fallen faces. He called for refraining from all extravaganzas and helping orphans, destitute and poor.
