Srinagar, June 11: Jammu and Kashmir has got three more NEET-PG exam centres as Baramulla, Budgam, Pulwama are now among the new center choices in addition to pre-existing Samba, Jammu and Srinagar Centers.
Earlier, J&K had just two examination centres one in Srinagar and another in Jammu. The new addition as per aspirants will ease the difficulties of the candidates from J&K.
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released the revised schedule for the NEET PG 2025 examination. As per the latest update, the exam will be conducted in a single shift on August 3, 2025, following the approval of SCI.
As per the latest notification of the NBEMS, it mentions that the tentative list of exam cities and procedure to select the exam city of NEET-PG 2025. It said in order to accommodate all candidates in one shift, more exam cities will be added.
“All applicants must reselect their preferred exam city, regardless of their earlier selection. The application window to choose the exam city will open on June 13, 2025 (3 pm) and close on June 17, 2025 (11:55 pm),” it said.
“Kindly refer to the NBEMS Notice dated 07.06.2025. Accordingly, NEET-PG 2025 will be conducted in Single Shift on 03.08.2025 in Single Shift to accommodate all the candidates in in single shift, NEET-PG will now be conducted in more cities. This will be in addition to the cities indicated in the information bulletin,” the notification said.
The selection of exam city by the candidates will be on First Come First Serve Basis. It added that relevant clauses in the Information Bulletin of NEET PG 2025 should therefore be read in light of this notice and NBEMS notice dated 07.06.2025.
The move comes ahead of the examination to accommodate all candidates as the exam will be held in additional cities beyond those initially listed in the information bulletin.
Earlier, doctors in J&K had urged the authorities to establish additional examination centres in Srinagar and Jammu for the NEET PG-2025, scheduled to be held across the country next month.
Earlier, they had stated that around 90 percent of the aspirants were allotted centres in Jammu, while only a few have secured centres in Srinagar.
According to the aspirants, while there were approximately 2,800 candidates last year, the number has increased to 4,000 this year and is expected to reach 5,000 by 2026. Despite this growth, the number of examination centres remains limited, he added.
The Computer-Based Test (CBT) for NEET PG-2025, conducted by NBEMS, determines the eligibility of candidates for admission to postgraduate medical programs in government institutions. or private medical colleges is scheduled to be held on August 03 across the country.
