Srinagar, Aug 10: The J&K Ball Badminton Association Sunday conducted selection trials for the Senior National Ball Badminton Team 2025-26 at Gindun Sports Stadium, Raj Bagh, Srinagar. The trials were organised in preparation for the 71st Senior National Ball Badminton Championship for Men and Women, scheduled to be held in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, from September 25 to 28.A statement issued here said that the trials were conducted under the supervision of the J&K Sports Council. Key officials overseeing the process included Shabir Ahmad (Manager, Sports Stadium Budgam) as the observer and Dilbagh Singh (Manager, Gindun Sports Stadium, Raj Bagh, Srinagar). The selection committee also included senior office bearers of the J&K Ball Badminton Association–. Arsheena Malik, General Secretary, (J&K Ball Badminton Association and Vice President, Ball Badminton Federation of India), Mohsin Farooq, (Vice President, JKBBA).After a detailed evaluation process, the committee shortlisted 15 men and 15 women from a pool of 20 participants each. These selected players will attend a 21-day residential coaching camp, following which the final squad of 10 men and 10 women will be selected to represent Jammu and Kashmir at the upcoming national championship. Details regarding the venue and schedule of the 21 days residential coaching camp and mandatory screening test will be announced shortly. The J&K Ball Badminton Association congratulated all selected athletes and extended its best wishes, expressing full confidence in their ability to perform well on the national stage. Any individual who wishes to raise an objection regarding the selection trials is requested to submit their grievance to the Selection Committee, J&K Ball Badminton Association. The objection must clearly mention the Name, Address, Contact number and the nature of the Objection. All objections must be submitted within seven days.
