Srinagar, Apr 21: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Law & Order, Jammu and Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, along with Rajesh Kumar Yadav, ADG CRPF for the parliament election 2024, chaired an election preparedness cum security review meeting to assess and enhance preparedness for the forthcoming elections.
The meeting, aimed at ensuring incident-free and smooth conduct of elections in North Kashmir, focused on various crucial aspects.
Attended by a host of senior officials including GOC (K), IG BSF Kashmir Frontier, IG CRPF Kashmir Ops Sector, Sector Commanders of Army, DIG Police NKR Bla, DIGs CRPF/BSF, Commandants of CAPF, and all district Senior Superintendents of Police (SSsP) of NKR Baramulla, the meeting also saw the participation of senior officers from intelligence agencies.
During the meeting, senior officers emphasized the commitment of law enforcement agencies to uphold the principles of democracy by ensuring a secure and fair electoral environment for all stakeholders involved. District SSsP briefed the election-related security plans in detail, highlighting strategies to address potential challenges.
ADGP L&O instructed all district SSsP to intensify efforts in generating specific intelligence, conducting anti-terrorist operations, and dismantling terror modules continuously. The meeting concluded with a directive to continuously monitor and assess the evolving security situation, with a particular focus on preemptive measures to mitigate any risks that may arise during the electoral process.
