Mendhar, Apr 13: Former Deputy Chairman, J&K Legislative Council and President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Pir Panjal Zone, Javed Ahmed Rana on Thursday handed over the allotment papers of the land identified for the construction of school to School Education Department.
In a statement issued here, Rana said that as part of the commitment he made earlier, he got the land for Model School sanctioned and handed over the allotment papers of the land identified for the construction of aforesaid school to the School Education Department.
The Deputy Commissioner Poonch alloted land measuring 9 Kanal in Khasra No 851 situated at village Salwah of Tehsil Mendhar to School Education Department for construction of Model School for Educationally Backward at Block Pathanateer.
He asserted that the National Conference stands fully committed to upliftment of every nook and corner of Pir Panjal region.
Rana was interacting with a delegation comprising Panchs, Sarpanchs and prominent people of the Block Pathanateer led by Sarpanch Pathanateer, Shahban Khan.
The delegation members expressed gratitude to Rana for sanctioning land for Model School for Educationally Backward Block Pathanateer.
While addressing members of the delegation, Javed Rana said that Mendhar was literally a backward area and so far as Education system in the area was concerned it was quite poor.
He asserted that it was only after becoming a legislator that he took several steps for upliftment of the area beginning with the most significant sector which is education.
The former legislator said that as part of the progressive agenda of National Conference he left no stone unturned in this direction as a result of which Mendhar has one degree college, Eklavya Model Residential School, several high schools, middle schools and higher secondary schools.
He said that the main aim behind this was to uplift Mendhar in the education sector. He said that it is really a matter of satisfaction that by now at least there is at least one High School and one middle school in every village.
He stressed upon the students to make skill education an inseparable part of their education and ensure that each and everyone receives skill education in at least one trade to increase the chances of their employability or becoming self employed.
