Jan Shehri Abhiyan: DC Shopian stresses on achieving set goals

Shopian, Dec 03: Shehri Jan Abhiyan under My Town My Pride 2.0 programme is in full swing across Shopian Town.
As part of this programme, various services of different departments are being provided to the people at Municipal Council Shopian.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya along with President MC, Subash Koul inspected the stalls put up within the premises of MC Shopian.
The DC also interacted with the general public and appealed them to take benefit of the initiative of ‘Shehri Jan Abhiyan’ and ‘My Town My Pride’ wherein departments are coming at their doorsteps to aware and educate people about opportunities being given by the government departments through schemes and programmes for upliftment of socio-economic conditions of the people.
Meanwhile, a series of activities are being conducted across the town as a part of this programme with the focus on extending benefits of different Govt Schemes and programmes to the last beneficiary in the urban areas.
Vaishya said that all departments have been directed to ensure vigorous participation in the program and have been assigned tangible targets. He said that the performance of each department is being evaluated and exhorted the District Officers to ensure that the assigned tasks are implemented on ground in letter and spirit.
During the events, the public are sensitized about the benefits and importance of cleanliness, sanitation, waste segregation and were urged and motivated to keep their surroundings neat and clean.
Stress is also being laid on saturation of all deliverables of different departments.
Among others, the programme was attended by district officers, officials and councilors of MC besides a large gathering of people.
