Jammu & Kashmir NCC Cadets Excel in Para Basic Course at AATS Agra

Three cadets from the Jammu and Kashmir Directorate of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) successfully completed the prestigious Para Basic Course at the Army Airborne Training School (AATS) in Agra.

The program, which ran from November 1 to November 25, 2024, is known for its tough training and provides cadets with the skills necessary for airborne operations. The cadets who participated were Sgt. Anjana Parihar from Government Degree College (GDC), Kishtwar, UG Tofail Jan from GDC, Doda, and Cdt. Laxmi Devi from GDC, Kathua.

The course began with a rigorous ground training phase from November 1 to November 14, focusing on the fundamentals of airborne operations. This was followed by an exciting cultural visit to the Taj Mahal on November 17, which gave the cadets a refreshing break. From November 19, cadets took part in practical tests such as the Ground Training Test and the Fan Descent Test, all of which they completed successfully. The highlight of the program was the day jumps at Malpura Drop Zone from November 20 to 22, where cadets displayed remarkable parachuting skills and confidence.

In addition to the physical training, the cadets were inspired by Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh, Director General of NCC, who visited the camp on November 19. His motivating words encouraged the cadets to pursue excellence in both their training and future endeavors. The cadets’ performance at the Para Basic Course not only showcased their individual resilience but also the strength of the NCC’s spirit of teamwork and adventure.

The successful completion of this course by cadets from Jammu and Kashmir Directorate reflects their determination and dedication. Their achievement brings honor to their colleges and the entire region. This training has not only enhanced their skills in airborne operations but also provided lifelong memories and experiences that will aid them in their future endeavors.
