Awantipora, Mar 25: The Department of Islamic Studies, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), organized an Interdepartmental Symposium on the Promotion of Peace and Protection of Environment under the banner ‘Message of Ramadan’. He also highlighted IUST’s efforts to integrate equity into its system by developing a Student Aid Program, aimed at streamlining charitable contributions to assist students in need.
Dr. Bisati emphasized that Ramadan promotes values of zakat, charity, and sadaqah, which, when directed effectively, can serve as powerful tools to break the chains of poverty and foster social justice. Dr. Showkat Hussain highlighted the spiritual and moral essence of Ramadan, which instills qualities of self-restraint, compassion, and responsibility. The best papers were awarded.
