Hyderabad, Jan 22: A Two-Day International Conference “Sustainable Development Goals for a Better World: Role of Public Administration” was inaugurated today at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU). Prof. Bidyut Chakrabarty, Former Vice-Chancellor, of Visva-Bharati Central University, Kolkata was the chief guest and keynote speaker of the session. The conference is being organised by the Department of Public Administration.

Prof. Bidyut Chakrabarty, a renowned scholar of public administration, emphasized the need to reinvent the Indic tradition of sustainable development and environmental protection. He said that humanity should be the focal point of all sustainable development efforts. Sustainability and humanity have fundamental connections and this goes beyond imitating the West. Sustainable development is meaningless without mass welfare, brotherhood, and fraternity, he added.

One such important practical aspect is the administrative aspect; and success of many policies depend upon administrative procedures.
