Pakistan has again raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir at the United Nations Human Rights Council(UNHRC) in Geneva to divert the attention of the international community from its internal socio-political turbulence that has consumed its resources. It is no secret that Pakistan is under debt and has been managing its economy on international support. After the neutralisation of Article 370 and 35 in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan has been feeling desperate to look out for the mercenaries that can wage a subversive war to pursue its agenda of destabilising India. But the developments that have taken place on ground in the newly created union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has made it rethink its strategy of bleeding India with thousand cuts at the behest of its ISI and the military junta that defines and dictates its domestic and foreign policy. Jammu and Kashmir has been marching on the path of socio-political and economic development post –neutralisation of Article 370 and 35 A. The Union Territory (UT) has witnessed peaceful and successful Lok Sabha and Assembly Elections that ultimately led to the installation of the democratically elected government. It has irked Pakistan and its terror groups that lose no opportunity to indulge in the acts of sabotage and violence to keep the terror machinery oiled. Giving a befitting reply to the irresponsible act of raising the Jammu and Kashmir issue at the UNHRC to hide its own socio-political de- stabilisation, India has taken Pakistan head on. Pakistan feels that it can take the international community for a ride by stating the untruths. India has countered the Pakistani propaganda on Jammu and Kashmir at the UNHRC and termed Pakistan a “failed state” in unequivocal terms to awaken the international community about the subversive reality of the Pakistani state. India has said that Pakistan survives on international hand-outs and spreads falsehoods as handed by the military-terrorist complex. Exercising the right to reply at the 58th Regular Session of UNHRC at Geneva Counsellor at India’s Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva Kshitij Tyagi said, It is regrettable, yet unsurprising, to see Pakistan’s so-called leaders and delegates continuing to dutifully spread falsehoods handed down by its military-terrorist complex.” In his powerful presentation it is unfortunate that Council’s time is being wasted continuously by a failed state that thrives on instability and international hand-outs having no credibility of its own. He termed the Pakistan rhetoric as hypocrisy guided by inhumanity and terming it incompetent. He made it abundantly clear that UTs of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will and are integral parts of India. He said that the region that was devastated by Pakistan’s war mongering and terrorism inflicted on this region is witnessing progress and said these successes are a testament to the people’s trust in the government’s commitment to bring normalcy to a region scarred by decades of Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism. He also exposed the human rights record of Pakistan where religious minorities are unsafe and are being continuously targeted. Not only that he accused Pakistan of giving shelter to UN-sanctioned terrorists. And as such it has no moral standing to lecture anyone on human rights. He advised Pakistan to instead focus on providing the actual governance and justice to its own people who are witnessing the decline of governance on each passing day. He underlined that Pakistan is making a mockery of the Organisation of Islamic Conference(OIC) by misusing it as a mouthpiece. He said that India is focussed on upholding democracy, progress and ensuring dignity for all sections of its people.
