In 4 days, over 1.25 lakh visitors flocked Doodpathri

Budgam, July 5: In the last four days, over one lakh visitors have flocked Doodhpathri in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
 
According to figures 125,429 visitors thronged the tourist destination while in the past six months i.e from January to June, 822,138 tourists have arrived during this time period.
 As per the official figures of the Doodhpathri development authority available with the Rising Kashmir  from January to December 2022, 843,559 total tourists have arrived in Doodhpathri in the last year. 316 foreign tourists, 179,891 domestic tourists, and 663,152 locals have visited the picturesque tourist resort of Doodhpathri.
The highest number of tourists was recorded at 450,854 in June, and the lowest was 11,341 in January. However, in May, the Doodhpathri received 185,394 tourists, and in April, 106,250 tourists.
 Since the last four days of July, Doodhpathri has seen a large influx of tourists. On July 1, 36,575 tourists arrived in one day, 48606 visited on July 2, 23,805 on July 3, and 16,443 on July 4.
Nargis Suraya, Executive Officer for the Doodhpathri development authority, said that since the last five days, the Doodhpathri has received a huge rush of tourists, which is very high as compared to the previous months.
 “The rush of domestic and foreign tourists has also increased over the last few years. Tourists from the various Indian states and foreign countries are visiting the Doodhpathri on a daily basis,” She said.
 Nargis said that the rush of tourists in Doodhpathri also provides sources of employment to the thousands of the people who are earning a good source of income from this tourist destination.
