Srinagar, Aug 15: Cluster University Srinagar celebrated the 79th Independence Day with the main function held at its administrative block where Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mohammad Mobin hoisted the national flag. The Vice Chancellor accepted the Guard of Honour presented by NCC cadets with the national anthem being played in the backdrop.According to a statement issued here, those who attended the ceremony included Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Simnani, Registrar, Prof. Syed Wilayat Hussain Rizvi, Controller of Examinations, Prof. Khurshid Ahmad Mir, Principals of constituent and affiliated colleges, Deans of various faculties, Chief Proctor, Dean Students Welfare, Coordinators of IG/PG programmes besides the other administrative staff of the university.In his address, the Vice Chancellor referred to the remarkable progress made by the country over the last seven decades under the leadership of visionary leaders, especially in the education sector.”As we celebrate our nation’s independence, we must also recognize the role of education in empowering citizens, promoting national unity, and driving socio-economic progress,” said Prof. Mobin. “Independence Day reminds us of the sacrifices of our forefathers and inspires us to work towards a brighter future for our nation. Let us recommit to our mission of providing quality education that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and social responsibility,” he added.
