Devsar (Kulgam), Oct 20: Peerzada Feroze Ahmad, the elected Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) on Sunday said that 1,12,000 voters in the Devsar constituency in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district were all his own.
“I am everyone’s MLA now,” he said. “Whoever comes to me, I am their MLA. I have also told my colleagues that whenever we receive any demand, we do not need to consider whether it is from the PDP or Congress. We are all one, and together, we will build Devsar.”
Feroze visited Devsar town – the heart of the constituency to congratulate the people and his supporters for making his victory possible.
“I came here to congratulate the people of this town because they have worked very hard. I would also like to thank the people of the entire constituency for this victory, and I will visit each place,” he said, adding, “Earlier, I thanked the people in the Kund block.”
The MLA-elect said he would visit the Frisal block and other halqas to thank the people. The people gave a strong mandate to the National Conference across the J&K, including Devsar, where the National Conference also secured victory.
“A lot of people have faith in us, and we will do our best to live up to their expectations,” Feroze said. He said the National Conference has already done a lot of work for the people here. “As Omar [Abdullah] said yesterday in his speech in Jammu, we have come forward for ‘Khidmat-e-Khalaq’ (service to humanity),” he added
Peerzada claimed that many of the promises made by the previous government had not been fulfilled. “Those promises are not being met on the ground. As a result, there is a lot of hope from the people. Specifically, there are two major demands from Devsar and Frisal: they want to denotify the town status, and they have struggled significantly for this,” he said. “In Sha Allah, I will put all my strength into addressing their demands, and we will free them from this concern.”
The MLA-elect further announced the future priorities which include health and other developmental issues with a particular focus on youth employment. “There is significant unemployment in J&K. The youth are worried, and so are their parents. We will, In Sha Allah, bring a strong package for the youth in our government. Our promise of creating 1,00,000 jobs will begin very soon,” he assured.
Deroze thanked the district administration for its role in the elections. “Now, I want them to work with our government, particularly in Devsar, and join us in serving the people,” he said.
