Jammu and Kashmir Police along with security forces on Sunday have successfully arrested a hybrid terrorist affiliated with proscribed Jesh e Muhammad (JeM) terrorist outfit at Naina Batapora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A Police spokesperson said, “The operation is a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in the region.”
“The arrested hybrid terrorist was identified as Rohail Abdullah S/O Mohammed Abdullah Thoker R/O Nully Poshwari Shopian, who was missing from his home since 8th Dec 2023”, he said.
“During the arrest, the security forces recovered Ak 56 Rifle= 01 , Mag. AK 56 =02 , AK Ammunition = 60 rds , Chinese grenade = 05 , Pistol glock = 01, Pistol magazine = 02,& Pistol live ammunition = 26 rds, from the terrorist’s possession. This recovery has undoubtedly prevented potential acts of violence and ensured the safety of innocent civilians.”
Police is conducting further investigations into the activities of the arrested terrorist. This is an essential step towards dismantling the terrorist (s) network and ensuring the long-term safety of the region.
