HWVO organises workshop on International Day of Girl Child-2022

Srinagar, Oct 12: A workshop on International Day of the Girl Child-2022 was organized by Human Welfare Voluntary Organization (HWVO) in collaboration with Department of Social Work & NSS Wing, Government college for Women (GCW), M.A Road Srinagar. 
The workshop aimed to discuss, deliberate and educate the participants on the current scenario of girl child in the country and to focus on the solutions to the problems concerning the vulnerable lot.
It also focused on sharing field observations via interventions on gender equity and the role of women in actively addressing the problems.
 
Principal GCW Prof. Dr Ruhi Jan Kanth inaugurated the workshop and delivered the key note address in which she asserted, “We all need to come together and work towards building a safe and a happier Ecosystem forgirl child to thrive.” 
She stressed on building the education and spreading awareness on the issues of the girl child and talk about gender equity.
 
Feroze Ahmad (CFO-HWVO) presented a mementoon behalf of the organization to Principal GCW Prof. Dr Ruhi Jan Kanthfor her contribution in promotion of  gender equity while actively advocating for women rights
 
The participants resolved to work towards changing themselves and It’s our collective responsibility to know, Understand and end Gender discrimination from their mindset, homes& community which later can ensure a world of equity for all Genders. 
The faculty members namely Prof. Bilkees Aslam, Prof. Waseem (NSS program Officers), Prof Tabzeer&Prof. Shabir from political Science Dept. Shared their views and graced the workshop.

Team HWVO comprising of Darakshan Bhat &SoleyaSabroo delivered the technical interactive sessions.
