Jammu, May 29: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who arrived in Jammu on Thursday on a two-day visit, convened a closed-door meeting with the three top Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders of Jammu and Kashmir at Raj Bhawan.
Shah summoned Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in J&K Assembly; Sat Sharma, BJP J&K President; and Ashok Koul, BJP General Secretary (Organisation), senior party leader Munish Khajuria informed Rising Kashmir.
He said these leaders have been invited for dinner with Amit Shah at Raj Bhawan tonight. Following the dinner, Shah is expected to hold a private meeting to discuss the political situation in J&K and the losses incurred in border areas due to Pakistani shelling and firing.
Khajuria further disclosed that the discussion will also cover measures for addressing the impact of border skirmishes and providing relief to affected residents.
Earlier, on instructions from the party high command, the BJP’s J&K unit formed a high-level team that visited several affected areas along the border. The team has submitted a report to the General Administration Department (GAD) recommending appropriate compensation for those impacted.
